Did you know that travelling can improve your health? Yes, it can! Wondering how? Travelling to different places once in a while can help take your mind off a busy life. It can also help make you feel better and happy, which improves your mental health.

If your mental health is in check, you are basically healthy as you will exercise more, eat healthy food and adopt healthy living habits. Travelling is a great way to discover and reconnect with yourself. Besides, you get a chance to make new friends, learn new cultures and taste foreign cuisines.

Sadly, it is now harder to travel and gain from these benefits. The pandemic has put many things to a halt, leading to the closure and destruction of many businesses. Travelling at this particular time puts you at risk of contracting the virus and even spreading it.

Fortunately, you can still travel only if you use the following tips. Read on.

Research Destinations

To be safe, it would be best to start by researching various destinations to travel to. While at it, you must factor in the number of cases active in each destination on your list. If a country has many active Covid-19 cases, it would be unwise to travel to such a country.

You should also find out the probability of that country going into lockdown. You wouldn’t want to travel to a country and end up locked in there for months—also, factor in places on your bucket list. If you have 4 favourite beaches in Portugal that you want to explore, go for it.

Choose the Right Accommodation

When choosing accommodation, start by selecting a place with low virus cases. Secondly, ensure the hotel or lodging you select has adequate windows for maximum air ventilation.

If you cannot find accommodation that will suit your needs, you should consider other options. You can choose to camp outside, but you have to ensure the place is safe enough. You can also consider apartments or homestays.

Avoid Public Transport

Public transits and rideshares during a pandemic are out of the question. This puts you at more risk of easily contracting the virus. However, if public transportation is the only option, ensure that you adhere to safe travel guidelines like social distancing and wearing a face mask.

It would be best to ensure that you have enough money when travelling to avoid public transport. You should consider using private transportation such as ubers, and if possible, you can hire a car to transport yourself.

Carry Covid Care Essentials

First, you need to ensure you get a Covid test and carry the results with you. There are some countries you cannot enter without presenting your negative Covid results. Secondly, make a list of all the items to carry, such as the right outfits for different activities. Also, when selecting activities to engage in, you should consider low-risk activities.

Lastly, don’t forget to carry Covid care essentials. This includes face masks, a face shield, hand sanitisers, disinfectant wipes and spray, gloves, and cold and flu medication.

With the above tips, you will lower the chances of contracting the virus and still get to enjoy your travel. Ensure you remain alert on how Covid cases are rising or reducing in various countries to plan for your next trip.
