London is one of the most vibrant cities in the world, with so much rich history, culture, and a real melting-pot of people living in the city. There are always reasons to visit the city, as there really is something for everyone. Whatever your interest are, there will be something for you in London, and because of that, it is one of the best cities in the world to visit. In fact, if you are planning a trip to the UK, then you might find it tricky to even plan out what you want to do as there are lots of things to do, but so little time to do it all in. So if you are a newbie to London, then here are some of the top reasons to visit and the things to do.

Visit the West End

If you love seeing shows, musicals, and the theatre, then the West End in London is a must; London’s answer to Broadway. It is a great spot in the city to see some world-class shows, so make sure that you get your London theatre tickets in advance (although there are some places where you can get tickets on the day). There is a really broad range of shows in the West End, so there will be something from classic shows to family musicals; something for everyone.

World-Class Shopping

No matter what style of shopping you like, such as high-end shopping or looking for a bargain at the market, you will find something that you love in London. There are things like boutiques in the West End of London, to large stores on the famous Oxford Street, and huge shopping malls like the two London Westfield stores. Markets are great in London too, with the likes of Portobello Road.

Down by the Riverside

The River Thames is one of the iconic elements of the London, with the history of the river going back for centuries. The good news is that there are plenty of things to do based around the river, from hiring a small motor boat at Paddington Basin to Little Venice, to going on a large Thames cruise. You can also use your Oyster or London Travelcard on some of the boats to get from London Bridge over to Greenwich.

History

You cannot fail to be impressed by the variety of things to do and the attractions in London. But some of which are rich in culture and history, so you can learn a lot and see some famous things from the crown jewels to the Houses of Parliament. You can visit places like Westminster Abbey, the famous location of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding, as well as Buckingham Palace Tours. The Tower of London is one of the oldest attractions in the city, that dates back to 1080.

The city really isn’t as big as you might think, as the underground is a great system, as well as walking by foot doesn’t take too long either. So you can get around and see quite of lot of things quite easily.
