This one’s for the really adventurous and for those who want to experience traditional Sherpa life. You can take on a climb in the Himalayas and spend some time with a Sherpa family to eat their food and learn about their culture.
Help out with a volunteering project
Volunteering is another great way to experience traditional Nepalese life. You could work on farming, forestry or construction projects and get a real insight into how the locals make their way in life. If you like the sound of volunteering, organisations like Projects Abroad UK have many options.
Plenty to do in Kathmandu
Kathmandu is known as the city of temples and is full of amazing places for you to see. Many of its ancient landmarks and temples are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
