A trip to London shouldn’t be taken lightly. The city is bursting at the seams with culture and history, and you’re going to want to make the most of your time there. You might be going on a vacation, but a trip to London can have several different outcomes. How you choose to get the most out of your journey will depend on your interests. You may choose to go sightseeing, or you could decide to explore the city’s pubs, clubs, and bars. No matter which you choose, you’re sure to have a memorable time in London.

Stay In Central London

First and foremost, you’re going to want to stay in central London. Staying in the city’s suburbs or near the city’s outskirts can limit your time in the capital. If you stay in central London, you’ll have several chances to explore the city’s iconic sites. You’ll have more time to visit museums, take in the city’s culture, and shop in the city’s famous boutiques. That being said, staying close to the attractions you want to visit can be helpful and planning your trip with various hotels can work in your favour too. The tube system allows you to get to most areas quickly so you can stay in a hotel near Westfield Shopping Centre one night and the next you can stay in one on the West End!

Plan Ahead

London is a vast city, and you’re going to want to wisely spend your time in the city. To do this, plan ahead. Don’t wait until you get to London to decide what you want to see. Instead, do some research beforehand. Use sites like TripAdvisor to look up reviews of museums, pubs, and restaurants. Look up photos on sites like Google and Flickr to feel the city’s iconic sites and famous buildings. You’ll want to make the most of your time in London, and planning ahead can help you get the most out of your trip.

Wear Comfy Shoes

There are many iconic sites and iconic buildings in London. If you decide to explore the capital’s streets, you could very well be on sore feet. London is a very crowded city, and many of its main streets are lined with crowds of people. Wear comfortable shoes to make sure you don’t end up with sore feet. You don’t have to wear your running shoes, but make sure they’re sturdy enough to stand up to walking around a city. It’s not a bad idea to bring a pair of sneakers.

Buy An Oyster Card

The easiest way to make the most of your time in London is to use the Oyster card. This card can be used on any tube, rail, bus, or tram in London. All you have to do is swipe your card as you board each form of transport. You’ll get a single all-day fare for £8.70 for zones 1-3. There is a maximum daily and weekly spend cap on travel using an Oyster card.

Buy A London Pass

A London Pass allows you entry into some of London’s top attractions, and these attractions can be pricey. You purchase the London pass per day in one-day increments from 1-10 days. The more days you buy upfront, the more you save. So for a one day ticket at £79, you would need to visit at least three attractions in one day to get your money’s worth. However, purchasing a 3-day pass for £123 will need to see two attractions each day to get your money’s worth.
